Michele Müller was born in 1956 in Montevarchi (Arezzo, Italy) but grew in Lugano (CH). He got his Master Degree in Natural Science in 1979 at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), where in 1983 he got also his PhD in Biochemistry. He has a long experience as Researcher in the field of biochemistry and proteomics, achieved from 1984 to 1995 between University of Bern (CH) and Nice (Fr). He’s author of more then 50 international publications and 1 patent. In 1995 he started his industrial career as senior R&D in Cerbios-Pharma S/A. Gianni Pertici was born in Pontedera (Pisa, Italy) in 1976, got his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering in 2003 at the University of Pisa and from 2005 to 2009 performed his PhD in Biomaterials at the Dept. of Chemistry of University of Pisa and at the King’s College of London. His studies were focused on processing engineering and material properties especially for biomedical field, but during the last years he acquired good knowledge also in biological field particularly in cell culture methods. Born in Venice (Italy) in 1978, he got his Master Degree and his PhD both in Engineering and both at the Politecnico di Milano, in 2002 and 2006 respectively. His studies were mainly focused on processing engineering and physical chemistry applied to materials for biomedical applications, particularly for tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. He’s author in more then 20 international publications and 3 patent families. Presently he’s also Post-Doc at the Applied Physical Chemistry Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano. Dec 2008 IBI S/A starts selling its 2D resorbable scaffolds for in vitro research in tissue engineering. IBI S/A begins a research cooperation with the Università di Pisa (It). IBI S/A first paper on ISI Journal is published (J. Appl. Biomat. Biomech. 6(3):186-192, 2008). Jan 2009 IBI S/A is among partners of the Italian/Swiss InterReg project “Clu.B.”, financed under the patronage of the European Commission by the Italian Regione Lombardia, the Swiss Federal Government and the Ticino Economic Development Office. Mar 2009 IBI S/A begins a research cooperation with BioCellCenter S.p.A. (It). IBI S/A is opening a new research laboratory at the Insubrias BioPark – Fondazione Istituto Insubrico di Ricerca per la Vita in Gerenzano (Italy) thanks to the Italian/Swiss InterReg Project “Clu.B.”.
